Redfoot Youth Theatre is located on the Hale School campus on Hale Road in Wembley Downs. Our offices, including Redfoot Administration, can be found inside the Memorial Hall, which sits adjacent to the Stow Studio Theatre on the corner of Hale Road and Unwin Avenue.
Depending on the production, you may find yourself visiting one of Hale School’s two main performance spaces: the Stow Studio Theatre or the John Inverarity Music and Drama Centre Auditorium (MDC Auditorium). All performance venues are wheelchair accessible and have parking located adjacent to the buildings. If you have specific requests or needs for disabled patrons, please contact Redfoot Administration prior to booking your tickets.
The Stow Studio Theatre is Redfoot’s main theatre space, and is a smaller, more intimate venue which can seat 87 patrons. The Stow Theatre is located on the corner of Hale Road and Unwin Avenue, and is accessible from the carpark through the gates on the eastern side of the building. Disabled patrons can access the theatre through the gates on the western side of the building (please contact us in advance so we can arrange to have these open). Bathrooms are located nearby in the Memorial Hall.
The MDC Auditorium is the school’s main music and theatre space, seating 353 patrons. This is where larger Redfoot productions such as musicals are performed. The Auditorium is located at the end of Unwin Avenue, off Hale Road, inside the John Inverarity Music and Drama Centre. The building includes bathroom facilities located off the main foyer.
Being at the theatre
We’re always excited to see new faces around the theatre, and we want you to have a good time, but there a few codes of conduct that you should be aware of. Please take the time to read through the advice below before you attend your next Redfoot show.
The foyer doors open 1 hour before a performance and the theatre doors open 10 minutes before the show starts. We encourage you to arrive in plenty of time, about 20 minutes before the show starts, especially if you are collecting tickets from the Box Office. An early arrival gives you time to grab a programme for some pre-show reading, visit the bathrooms and be in your seat before the show begins.
Late arrivals often have to wait to get into the theatre until a suitable break in the performance, because it’s very distracting for the actors and audience. If you are running late for a performance, please see an usher before entering the theatre.
There is no dress code for the theatre. We want you to feel comfortable but you never know who you might meet, so we suggest a smart casual outfit. It can sometimes be cold in the theatres so bring a jacket or scarf.
Some Redfoot performances include interval refreshments, which are provided free of charge in the foyer of the venue. If you are attending a performance that has interval refreshments, please finish enjoying your refreshments before entering the theatre as food and drinks are not permitted in any of our theatres.
Hale School and all of its venues are smoke-free environments. Smoking anywhere on the school grounds is forbidden, and offending patrons may be asked to leave.
Please remember to turn off all mobile phones and other electronic devices before the performance. Cameras and other recording devices are strictly forbidden for all Redfoot shows at all times, without exception, while the performances are underway.
If you enjoyed your time at the theatre, then please spread the word and tell your friends! We want as many people to experience our productions as possible and we love it when our patrons introduce new people to the theatre and to our shows. You’re welcome to share your thoughts with us in person, by emailing us or connecting with us on social media – don’t be shy!
