CAST HAVE A WICKED TIME
Posted: May 21, 2015
This week, our cast for the upcoming production of You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown were treated to a surprise at rehearsals when Wicked actor John O’Hara stopped by for a chat and to cast an expert eye over their rehearsal – having played Charlie Brown himself in the Australian production early on in his career.
John plays the Witch’s father in Wicked, currently showing at Crown Theatre, and has been with the production for over 3 years now, touring Singapore, the Philippines and Australia – the second time around. John’s CV is as impressive as it is extensive, having only been acting professionally since 2001 when he completed a Bachelor of Arts in Musical Theatre at WAAPA. Since then his theatre credits extend both nationally and internationally and include Rock of Ages, The Boy from Oz, The Rocky Horror Show, Jesus Christ Superstar, Shout, Hair and many more. It was his role as Rum Tum Tugger in Cats which saw him receive critical acclaim, having toured Asia in 2009 and Australia in 2010.
John brought his wealth of knowledge along to the Charlie Brown rehearsal where he gave the students a bit of his background and answered a barrage of questions. He shared all the great things about working in theatre before staying for rehearsal and offering some expert tips.
